An autopsy was performed this morning on the body of a black male who was pronounced dead on the scene of a shooting on the city’s south side. Police have identified the victim as 30-year-old Jermaine Foster of Fort Wayne.
He is the 2nd homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.
The shooting happened Saturday afternoon on Serenity drive near Tillman and South Anthony.
According to the Journal Gazette, police were called to the scene just after 4:00 p.m. When they got there, they found one person dead inside of a vehicle. Another victim was found inside an apartment nearby and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators spoke with witnesses and collected numerous shell casings. The shooter has not yet been caught, but in the meantime, police are still investigating.
