Wanted Man leads Police on Foot Chase through Noble Co.

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A wanted man was chased down by Indiana State Police last night.

27-year-old Duane Mayfield had a warrant for his arrest in Noble County and was taken into custody by Trooper Mike Carroll, who noticed Mayfield's vehicle with a stolen license plate.

Around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Carroll followed Mayfield's vehicle on State Road 3 near Drake Road. When Carroll attempted to pull over the vehicle, Mayfield didn't stop and continued to drive through the town of Kendallville.

Mayfield continued around East Noble High School and the Maple Grove Mobile Home Park. While in the park, both Mayfield and his passenger, 22-year-old Cody Black, fled their car and ran away on foot.

With help from the Kendallville Police Department, both Black and Mayfield were taken into custody. Mayfield is at the Noble County Jail with felony charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine.

Black is facing misdemeanor charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia.
