Warren Evaluating Sturdiness of Downtown Buildings

WARREN, Ind. (WOWO): These evaluations come after the weekend collapse of one structure just after a parade ended. Clerk-Treasurer Marilyn Morrison says the town council hired an engineer to check the exteriors of all downtown buildings. The building that collapsed Friday night and slightly injured two people was over 100 years old. It has now been torn down, and so has the building next to it. According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, the town has decided to tear down a third building adjacent to the one that collapsed because it would cost too much to stabilize it.
