Water Related Death Investigation

VINCENNES, Ind. (WOWO): Seven-year-old Luke Zimmerman, of Kentucky, has died in a water related incident that occurred in the Wabash River, at Kimmel Park, in Vincennes.
On Saturday evening, 46-year-old Thomas Zimmerman, from Vincennes, father of the victim, had taken Luke and his older brother Jonathan down to the public boat ramp area at Kimmel Park. 

As the boys were wading on the ramp, the victim disappeared underneath the water. Thomas immediately entered the water to rescue his son calling on other people in the area to call “911”.

As medics arrived, Thomas found his son. CPR was begun and the victim was taken to the hospital.  

Luke passed away shortly before 9 AM Monday morning. 

The death is still under investigation, however, no wrong doing is suspected at this time.
