Winter Storm Forecast to Bring More Heavy Snow to Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Forecasters have issued a winter storm warning that spans from north-central to southern Indiana ahead of a storm that could dump up to 8 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service's winter storm warning runs from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday and covers an area from the Ohio River to as far north as Monticello.

A separate winter weather advisory covers counties in far southwestern Indiana.

Forecasters say rising temperatures could cause some of the precipitation to fall as rain, ice or sleet. But mostly snow is expected north of Interstate 70, with 4-8 inches forecast in that area. Three to 7 inches of snow will be mixed with sleet and rain south of I-70.

Motorists should use caution Friday night through Saturday as roads become hazardous.
