Woman Injured After Car Hits Tree, Trying to Avoid Deer

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A woman was injured after her car hit a tree while she was trying to avoid hitting a deer. 44-year-old Tamara Shepherd, of Columbia City, was traveling south on SR 9 when a deer went into the road. Shepherd tried to avoid the deer, that's when her vehicle left the road and hit a tree. She was trapped in her vehicle for a short time because of damage to her vehicle. Shepherd was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with ankle injuries.
