FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A woman has been sentenced after her baby needed Narcan in 2023.

26-year-old Kayla Devreax reportedly called 911 in August of 2023 because her son was having trouble breathing. Upon arrival, first responders found the one-year-old with his eyes rolled back.

First responders issued Narcan, and within 10 seconds they say the boy’s breathing returned to normal.

A search of the apartment turned up a ziploc bag containing cocaine and another containing fentanyl.

Devreax was charged with neglect of a dependent causing serious injury and was booked into jail after violating her probation.
