FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne’s Morning News Anchor Darrin Wright is once again raising money to cover the medical expenses of children receiving care from Riley Children’s Hospital.

Wright participates in the annual “Extra Life” event that supports Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the country through 24-hour video game marathons. His marathon is from 10am Friday to 10am Saturday:

“My family and some of my closest friends have had to rely on Children’s Miracle Network hospitals for care, and they always do a fantastic job,” Wright says. “This is just our way of trying to give back and to help others who might not be able to cover the cost of their kids’ care… they have a lot of things on their minds, and the hope is we can take some of that stress off.”

Last year, WOWO listeners helped Wright raise $1,002 for Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He interviewed Laura Buckner of Riley Children’s Foundation recently to detail where the donations go:

His team is giving away prizes to random donors, including an Amazon Echo Dot, t-shirts, and digital movie downloads.
