INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The Indianapolis Zoo says three African lion cubs are doing well since being born a month ago.
Zoo officials announced Tuesday that the one female and two male cubs were born Sept. 21 to first-time parents, mother Zuri and father Nyack. They are the first lion cubs born at the zoo since 2003.
Officials say the cubs are nursing well and growing. They now weigh between 7.5 and 9.5 pounds.
Zuri and the cubs will remain indoors for several months, with the cubs expected to make their public debut next spring.
The zoo plans to soon announce details for the public to vote on names for the cubs through the zoo's Facebook page.
