Social Media Sale Results in Fort Wayne Robbery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A social media sale resulted in a 14-year-old getting robbed last weekend in Fort Wayne.

The Journal Gazette reports a 14-year-old boy tried to sell his Air Jordan basketball shoes via Instagram. The teen supposedly knew the buyer and arranged a transaction for Saturday afternoon.

The teen received a phone call early Friday morning that the buyer was in the area and wanted to look at the shoes. The teen met with the buyer and his “cousin” who then asked for change for a 100 dollar bill. After the teen attempted to go inside for the cash, they put something around his neck and stole his cellphone and shoes.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic male and a black male, both ranging between 14 to 16 years of age. Anyone with information should call CRIMESTOPPERS at (260) 436-STOP or 1-800-237-STOP.
