BROOKSTON, Ind. (AP) _ Indiana State Police say a section of Interstate 65 near Lafayette was closed for about 10 hours because a semitrailer caught fire after crashing into another track parked along the highway.
The collision occurred about 1:30 a.m. Friday on I-65 about 15 miles north of Lafayette. State police Sgt. Ann Wojas says a trucker had stopped on the outer shoulder of the northbound lanes with mechanical troubles. Soon after the driver got out of the truck, it was hit from behind.
Wojas says the second truck continued on for a short distance before it caught fire and became fully engulfed with flames. Both drivers were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
