FWCS Board Gets Good Report on Student Spending

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Community Schools board got some good news last night about the way the school district spends its money.

State figures show that FWCS officials focused almost two-thirds of all their spending on students during the 2013-2014 school year. The Journal Gazette reports the 62% number is actually lower than last year's of 67%, and the district's expenditures have been as high as 71% student-focused.

Spending on students includes construction projects, and that will continue next summer, when $750,000 of improvements will be made at six schools.
