FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A woman was found dead in a Fort Wayne apartment Friday.

Police were called to the 8600 block of Lakeside Drive around 12:30 p.m. to check on the woman’s well-being after her family had not heard from her for two days.

Family members arrived to the scene before police, and found her deceased.

She was later identified as Carmen Hughes, 60 of Fort Wayne. The Allen County Coroner determined she died from multiple stab wounds, and her manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Hughes is the second homicide victim in Allen County this year.
