ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): An Angola man was charged with murder and attempted murder after police say he to stabbed two people, killing one of them, over the weekend.
Edwin Garcia, 32, was arrested after he was found in an abandoned house on East Gilmore Street in Angola and was taken to Steuben County Jail.
Officers with the Angola Police Department arrived to the area of Washington and Broad Street in Angola at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday after multiple people called police saying they heard a woman screaming.
Officers found the body of Jonathon Abuja inside a home on North Washington Street. They also found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times at another home.
She was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Police said on Sunday night that she was still recovering in the hospital.
A K-9 unit found evidence critical to the investigation, according to Angola Police.
