AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A retired Auburn K-9 has died.

According to an announcement on the city’s Facebook page, K-9 Paco died yesterday from natural causes.

The German Shepherd joined the Auburn Police Department in 2009 and served the department for seven years before living out the rest of his days with the family of his partner, Officer George Gensic.

A member of the Auburn Elks Lodge has expressed interest in honoring Paco during their “Law and Order Knight” next month.
