CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOWO): One of the men who was vying to be Donald Trump’s running mate has complimented Indiana Governor Mike Pence, the man who won the job.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was on Trump’s final list of candidates to be his Vice President should he be elected in November. Christie says Pence was a good choice:

“What Donald needed was a partner, who has governed and been responsible for results, and has been held responsible by his people,” Christie says. “He also needed someone who was a good, decent, honest person who would tell him the truth. With Mike Pence, he got all of those things.”

Trump himself again endorsed Pence on Fox News before the Republican National Convention started in Cleveland last night. We’ll have coverage of the convention all week.
