Data breach at more than 160 Applebee’s locations, Fort Wayne locations included

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – If you’ve eaten at Applebee’s recently, you might want to check your bank statements.

RMH Franchise Holdings, the owner and operator of more than 160 Applebee’s locations, announced it discovered malware on the point-of-sale system, according to our partners in news at ABC 21.

Hackers may have used the malware to access guests’ names, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates and card verification codes.

The breach ranges from November 2017 to January 2018, and affects all four Fort Wayne locations. In Indiana alone, 21 restaurants were impacted.

Anyone who visited the affected stores should check their statements and immediately report any unauthorized charges.
