FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Dozens of families gathered at Tilman Park Friday for a Juneteenth celebration hosted by Community Harvest Food Bank.

More than 20 organizations connected residents with local resources while a husband-and-wife barber team provided free haircuts.

The couple says they regularly serve community events and people experiencing homelessness, helping boost confidence through their work.

According to 21 Alive News, organizers say the event highlighted the spirit of Juneteenth by promoting unity, understanding and community engagement while bringing families together for a day of celebration.
