Fort Wayne and Allen County K-9 officers featured on trading cards

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Gotta fetch ‘em all? No, not Pokémon cards — trading cards for K-9 units at the Fort Wayne and Allen County police departments.

All K-9 officers in the Fort Wayne Police Department and Allen County Police Department will be featured on 10,000 trading cards each, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

The departments hope the cards will create a bond between officers and the community. Improving the relationship between police and citizens is a big focus of the FWPD. Last week, the department announced it will soon have a new community relations position, which is aimed at creating a bond in the community.

Local businesses are invited to sponsor the cards. A $300 donation earns a business its name on the back of the public trading cards, trading cards for employees and a poster of a K-9 unit.
