FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne Police Captain doesn’t seem optimistic about the war against heroin.

Heroin is possibly the most popular drug in America. That’s according to our partners in news at 21Alive, who report that last year alone the Fort Wayne Police Department seized a record 339 grams of heroin.

Captain Kevin Hunter says that’s more than twice the amount they seized the year before, and apparently the drug’s reach is just getting worse, spreading across multiple demographics and not limited to any specific walk of life or age.

Hunter adds that the problem will continue to worsen unless what he calls “drastic measures” are taken to fight it.
