A Goshen teen has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for beating a woman to death. Luis Bailey, 17 at the time of the December incident, pleaded guilty to charges of beating 76-year-old Norma Hopper to death. Bailey testified that he broke into the woman’s Elkhart home looking for items to steal so he could buy marijuana. He then beat Hopper with a metal fence post and took her car. An Elkhart judge ordered the sentence yesterday.
