Huntington Theater Closes after Recent Renovations

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): A recently renovated theater is closing in Huntington after coming up short in ticket sales.

The Journal Gazette reports after seven years of renovations, the New Huntington Theater was once a former movie house that turned into a professional theater.

After one season of regular theater productions, the establishment will be closing its doors. “Les Misérables” was the New Huntington Theater's last show that came up 1500 tickets short of what was needed to cover the cost of the production.

The owners of the theater told the Journal Gazette they will both continue to teach theater at Manchester University and look for other opportunities in the industry.
