PORTER, Ind. (AP) – Indiana State Police say Interstate 94 eastbound near Porter is closed because of a multi-vehicle crash involving several trucks and cars, with one person dead.

State police Master Sergeant Erick Gilliam says the interstate is closed at State Highway 49 eastbound, saying that an accident occurred Thursday afternoon where several tractor-trailers jackknifed and collided and several passenger cars also were involved.

He says no other details were immediately available.
