Indiana Absenteeism

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — New state figures show a 1.1% improvement, with 16.7% of students now classified as chronically absent.

That means they’ve missed at least 10% of the school year.

It’s the third year in a row the state has seen gains-but several Lake County school districts are still lagging behind, highlighting the ongoing struggles in many urban communities.
