FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Indiana’s nursing shortage is getting critical – hospitals are operating with just 72% of the nurses they need.
With more patients and more complex care, the state is trying new ways to boost the pipeline.
A new law now allows high school students to start nursing programs early, and hospitals like IU Health are offering major perks, including $30,000 sign-on bonuses, to attract new talent.
