Influx of Burmese Refugees Expected

Officials with the U.S. State Department say Fort Wayne could soon see a larger-than-usual influx of Burmese refugees.  The Journal Gazette says, Catholic Charities of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese has been approved to resettle as many as 170 refugees.  That would be the highest number since calendar year 2009 when 297 Burmese refugees arrived in Fort Wayne.  The rise is being attributed to a desire by those refugees to reunite with family members who are already here.
