FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): 40-year-old Anthony Ochs was sentenced today in Allen Superior Court to 50 years after admitting to beating his girlfriend to death last spring with a baseball bat.

According to the Journal Gazette, Ochs was sentenced on a charge of voluntary manslaughter after clubbing 42-year-old Susan Lombardi. 

He called police about 3:00 a.m. pn April 13, 2012, saying he hit her in the head. She was taken to a hospital with multiple facial fractures and traumatic brain injuries.

The charge was upgraded to murder a few days later after Lombardi’s family removed her from life support.
