WOOD COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO) – A crash involving a Jeep and a Norfolk Southern train is under investigation in Wood County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it happened just after 1:30 Monday afternoon in Perrysburg Township.
Troopers say the Jeep failed to stop at a railroad crossing before being struck by the train.
No injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation.

The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 1:34 p.m. on Carter Road, south of Reitz Road. A Jeep Wrangler driven by 68-year-old Keith Breyfogle of Bowling Green failed to stop at a stop sign at the tracks and entered the train’s path. The Jeep was struck by a northeastbound Norfolk Southern train. Neither the driver nor the two train occupants were injured.

Troopers say Breyfogle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor.

Perrysburg Township Police, Fire, EMS, and Tommy Boy Towing assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
