FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An Allen County judge has ruled jurors outside the county will be selected in the Amber Garrett trial.
The Journal Gazette reports a judge made the decision Thursday morning.
Garrett, 27, is charged with two counts of neglect in the Nov. 2017 death of her two-year-old son Malakai. Garrett’s boyfriend, Mitchell Vanryn, 28, allegedly beat the boy to death. He is charged with murder. Police say Garrett knew of the abuse and did nothing to stop it.

Garrett’s trial was scheduled to begin on Nov. 27. A new trial date will be set.
