Man Accused of Raping Elderly Woman to Appear in Court

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A 42-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly suburban Indianapolis woman is set to make his first appearance in court.

WTHR-TV (http://bit.ly/1AR7k17 ) reports an initial hearing for Ira Link of Beech Grove is scheduled for Monday morning. He's charged with two counts of rape, burglary and confinement with a repeat sexual offender enhancement.

According to authorities, the victim told a detective that Link knocked on her door May 2, forcing his way inside. She said he beat and sexually assaulted her.

Court documents say Link was arrested after his mother called police to report that he said he raped an elderly woman in Greenwood.

It wasn't immediately known if Link has an attorney representing him.
