Man Pleads Guilty in 2012 Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man will soon learn his fate for a 2012 shooting.

Thirty-year-old Quinn James pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in a deal with prosecutors. He was originally charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in the July 2012 shooting of Antonio Hamlet on Fairfax Avenue and Standish Drive.

According to the Journal-Gazette, James had been on the run for nearly two years before being captured in April. He'll be sentenced next month. He could get a 20-year sentence with five years suspended.

As part of the plea agreement, the attempted murder charge against him will be dropped and he'll serve three years probation after his sentence is served.
