Man Shot in Marion County, Sent to Fort Wayne Hospital

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): State Police say man was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital after he was shot by an officer in Marion.

Police in Marion responded to a disturbance call around 4:30 Sunday morning involving 26 year old Chris Cook. According to the Journal Gazette, police followed Cook on foot and officers were afraid he was carrying a gun.

When Cook refused to drop the handgun and stop running, an officer shot him in the torso. Cook was flown by helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital. No word on the nature of his crime or his condition.
