FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Michelle Chambers has officially filed for her Fort Wayne City Council At Large Candidacy this afternoon.

Chambers has dedicated years to local causes as the Mayor-appointed City of Fort Wayne Metro Commissioner, volunteered with Fort Wayne Girls Rock, served as the President of the Fort Wayne Chapter of The Links Incorporated, unified with business owners of Greater Fort Wayne Inc., and served as Past President of The Summit City South Rotary Club.

Chambers was also caucused in 2015 to serve as the City of Fort Wayne City Clerk and in 2018 she was chosen to participate in the inaugural “Hoosier Women Forward” statewide leadership program.

Her professional accomplishments include creating jobs with both of her thriving businesses in Downtown Fort Wayne: Signing Closers LLC, a professional notary signing service; and the former YVH (Your Virgin Hair) Boutique. She also managed the opening of Little Thinkers School of Early Learning.

“As a community advocate and an entrepreneur with a small business located in downtown Fort Wayne for the last seven years, it is apparent that the City of Fort Wayne is experiencing unprecedented growth both economically as well as throughout the community,” said Chambers in a press release. “I now feel that the timing is right to do more, give more and serve the community even more.”

Chambers has made it her priority to commit her campaign foundation to the following areas: Economic Development, Government Transparency and Public Safety.
