MONROE, MI (WOWO) Two 18-year-olds have been arrested in Monroe after being found with a stolen vehicle and evidence of multiple other vehicle thefts.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Tenaya Dayshanee Taylor of Monroe and James Lee Harris of Ypsilanti were arraigned Saturday on charges of receiving and concealing stolen property. Both are being held on $10,000 bond according to WTOL.

The arrests followed a Saturday morning report just after 5 a.m. from Southfield Police regarding a vehicle stolen during an armed carjacking. Using the stolen gray Nissan Altima’s information, deputies tracked the car with FLOCK safety cameras.

At 5:35 a.m., Deputy Brent Thomas located the vehicle at a gas station in the 600 block of S. Monroe Street. Both suspects had just left the car and entered the store. They were taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed evidence linking Taylor and Harris to numerous thefts from vehicles across Monroe and Monroe Township.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
