PAULDING, Ohio (WOWO): The Northeast Indiana Honor Flight Chapter had a big pay day on Monday, Sept. 12.

Avangrid Renewables Blue Creek Wind Farm in Ohio gave a $10,000 check to Paulding Putnam Electric and Northeast Indiana Honor Flight Chapter, according to the Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative.

Paulding Putnam Electric Co-op lead a fundraising campaign to sponsor two full honor flights. Those flights will be on Sept. 22 and on Oct. 12.

“It has been amazing how the region has stepped up for this great cause, but not surprising at all,” Paulding Putnam Electric’s CEO George Carter said. “Northeast Indiana’s Honor Flight Chapter has a tremendous vision for their organization and the veterans it serves.”

About 40 World War II Veterans are participating in the Sept. 22 Honor Flight.
