Owner of Frank Lloyd Wright homes tries to end historic status

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The home owner of the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in Fort Wayne hopes the City Council has changed its mind.

Richard J. Herber is asking the City Council to take his house on North Washington Road off the list of local historic district, according to the News-Sentinel.

The council rejected a similar request earlier this year. In 2008, Herber had voluntarily put the house on the National Register of Historic Places.

Herber said he can’t afford keeping the house in repair because of a disability. Wright is a famous American architect.
