Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Pickup in Roseland

ROSELAND, Ind. (AP) – Authorities have launched an investigation after a pedestrian was killed in the town of Roseland.

Assistant Chief Bill Thompson of the St. Joseph County Police Department says the accident took place shortly before 9 p.m. Monday on State Road 933. He says a man and his wife had just finished dinner at a restaurant and were trying to cross the street to get back to their hotel.

Thompson says the man was struck by a southbound pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. He says the man was taken with serious injuries to a local hospital, where he later died.

Thompson says the victim and his wife were part of a tour group visiting from another state.
