INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is going on a weeklong trip to China.
The governor's office says Pence left Saturday for the trip with first lady Karen Pence and state Commerce Secretary Victor Smith.
Pence's itinerary includes meetings with Chinese business executives and government officials, along with hosting a reception with the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association at the American Embassy in Beijing. Other cities he'll visit during the trip are Shanghai and Hangzhou, with stops planned at Chinese operations of Indiana-based companies Eli Lilly and Co. and Cummins.
The governor is scheduled to return May 16. Pence's office says the trip's cost is being paid through private donations to the Indiana Economic Development Foundation.
