Pet Owners Beware

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Animal Care and Control has received reports about animals being removed from backyards in northwest Fort Wayne. Cats from the area are also believed to be missing.

According to the reports, a white van, short in length and rounded in appearance, with bold, black lettering that reads ANIMAL CARE, has been seen driving slowly through neighborhoods and alleys in Fort Wayne. 

The van and occupants are not connected to the City of Fort Wayne, Animal Care & Control Department. If you see the van or have any information about this, call Animal Care & Control at 427-1244 or contact the police desk sergeant at 427-1222.

Pet owners are cautioned to stay with pets when they are outside and to not leave any animal unattended in a parked vehicle.
