Police: Lafayette Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Lafayette police say investigators believe a man found fatally injured in a street was the victim of a hit-and-run collision.

Tuesday night, officers found the man on a busy street east of the city's downtown with injuries to his head and elsewhere. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

WLFI-TV reports some pieces of car body work were left at the scene and police said the vehicle that hit the man might have damage to the hood and headlights on the front passenger side.

Police didn't immediately release information about the man who was killed.
