Police Send Report on Girl’s Death to Prosecutor

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) – Lafayette police investigating the death of a toddler have sent their findings to the county prosecutor for review.

Tippecanoe County Prosecutor Pat Harrington confirmed to the Journal & Courier Thursday that his office had received the report on the death of 14-month-old Skylar Foster.

A coroner says the cause of the child's death was blunt force trauma to the head.

The girl's grandfather, Michael Yocum of Monticello, says Skylar's parents are no longer together and the child had been living with her mother and her boyfriend when she suffered the fatal injury.

Emergency responders called to a home July 21 found the girl wasn't breathing. She was transported to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where life support was removed the following day.
