WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (WOWO) Purdue University officials report that a custodian has been arrested and charged with voyeurism following an incident in Shreve Residence Hall.

Authorities say the victim noticed a camera aimed at her while showering, screamed for help, and caused the suspect to flee. The suspect, 49-year-old Robert Dotson, was immediately terminated from his custodial position.

Dotson admitted to recording the student for his own sexual gratification, describing it as a “crime of opportunity.” He has been charged with felony voyeurism and misdemeanor THC possession.

In addition, Purdue University has banned Dotson from campus for five years. The case remains under investigation.
