UNDATED (WOWO): Have a sick kid? Better be careful which medicine you give them.
Two flavors of liquid cold syrup for children have been recalled, with the government saying there is too much of a risk that kids could overdose because the dosage cups have incorrect markings.
Here's the problem; the meds are sold under different brand names because they are generics. The cherry and grape medicine is made by Perrigo, and it contains guaifenisen, the main ingredient in Mucinex for chest congestion. The name on the label depends on whether you bought it at Kroger, CVS, Dollar General or another store.
If you have bought one of the following recalled medicines, you should toss it out and call Perrigo at (888) 345-0479 or visit the website mucusreliefrecall.com.
