FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker is voicing support for the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority following a news conference earlier Thursday held by the Allen County Board of Commissioners.

In a written statement, Tucker said public safety and emergency medical services remain a top priority for the city. She clarified that there is no interlocal agreement between the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority and the Consolidated Communications Partnership for emergency medical dispatch services.

Tucker noted that the City of Fort Wayne does have an interlocal agreement with TRAA for emergency medical dispatch, which she said is working well and will continue to meet the needs of city residents.

The mayor also pointed out that the Allen County Board of Commissioners withdrew from the Fort Wayne–Allen County interlocal agreement overseeing emergency medical services in December. As a result, she said the city and the Consolidated Communications Partnership are not responsible for providing or subsidizing emergency medical dispatch services for residents outside Fort Wayne.
