Suspect and Officer in Police-Involved Shooting Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The suspect and the Fort Wayne officer involved in police-action shooting Saturday have been identified.

37 year old Chad Kinney ended up shot in the knee by Fort Wayne Police Officer Jean Gigli after allegedly trying to run from police on Third Street near Schilling Saturday afternoon. He's in fair condition at a local hospital.

Police were there investigating a stolen vehicle. Kinney was arrested on two active warrants, but Fort Wayne police are saying more charges are pending.

Gigli is a 13 year member of the force and is on five-day paid administrative leave following the shooting, which is department policy.
