RICHMOND, Ind. (AP): A judge has delayed the trial of a Richmond man charged with murder in a drug-related killing while a state appellate court considers the case.

The Palladium-Item reports (http://pinews.co/1kvhWtz) 20-year-old Robert Campbell is appealing a court ruling allowing Wayne County Prosecutor Mike Shipman to withdraw from a plea agreement in which Campbell was had pleaded guilty to murdering 48-year-old Michael Sekse in 2012.

The deal called for all other charges to be dropped in exchange for Campbell's testimony against co-defendants.

Campbell last year refused to testify against a co-defendant. After being ordered to testify, Campbell refused and was sentenced to 2½ years for contempt of court. Campbell's attorney, and Jeffrey Arnold, contends that Campbell being tried for contempt and facing the additional charges amounts to double jeopardy.
