Truck and Rail facility for Fort Wayne GM plant denied

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A controversial proposed truck and rail facility for the Fort Wayne GM Plant isn’t happening.

Allen County commissioners voted against the rezoning of an 87-acre tract of land from agricultural to business, technology and industrial during their meeting this morning at 10am. The Journal Gazette reports this stalls plans to build a facility, proposed by Michigan-based Crown Enterprises, Inc., that would have helped deliver vehicle components to the GM plant.

Those plans came under fire by people who live nearby, who argued that the proposal violated the County’s planning and zoning rules. Some opponents of the plan sued to try and stop it.
