LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): One person was killed and eight were hurt in a single-vehicle crash in LaGrange County last night.

The Sheriff's Department says 31-year-old Jennifer Botts of Elkhart was driving a passenger van on County Road 500 South near Big Long Lake at about 9:20 PM when the van went off the road, down a steep bank and crashing head-on into a culvert. One passenger was killed while Botts and seven other passengers were injured. None of them were wearing seat belts. 

There's no word yet on what caused the crash, and the person killed hasn't been publicly identified yet.
