Venezuelan Man Who Allegedly Posed as Perrysburg High School Student Sentenced to Prison in Ohio

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — A Venezuelan man accused of posing as a teenage student to enroll at Perrysburg High School has been sentenced to prison in Wood County, Ohio, and will be required to register as a sex offender following a multi-count conviction involving forgery and sexually oriented material charges.

Court records and sentencing details from Wood County Common Pleas Court show Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, 25, received an indefinite prison sentence of four to six years Thursday under Ohio’s Reagan Tokes law.

SENTENCING AND COURT ORDER

A Wood County judge sentenced Labrador-Sierra to:

  • 4 years to 6 years in prison on a second-degree felony pandering charge involving sexually oriented matter
  • 12 months in prison on a fifth-degree felony forgery charge

The sentences will run concurrently with each other and concurrently with a separate federal prison sentence previously issued in Toledo.

As part of the ruling, the court also ordered:

  • Registration as a Tier II sex offender
  • A mandatory five-year post-release control period following release
  • Continued custody transfer to a state correctional facility after processing through the Wood County Justice Center

The judge said the prison term was “appropriate and necessary” to deter future criminal conduct.

CASE ORIGINS: ALLEGED HIGH SCHOOL IMPERSONATION

According to reporting from WTOL 11 and court documents, Labrador-Sierra first contacted Perrysburg Schools in November 2023, seeking enrollment as a student.

Authorities say he claimed to be a homeless Venezuelan immigrant and a victim of human trafficking, and later submitted documents identifying himself as a 16-year-old born in 2007.

Investigators later determined he was actually 24 years old at the time of enrollment, and prosecutors allege he used fraudulent documents, including a fake birth certificate, to gain admission.

School records and police reports indicate he attended Perrysburg High School for more than a year, where he participated in extracurricular activities including swimming and junior varsity soccer.
