Legacy Joint Funding Committee Approves $6 Million for Riverfront Development

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A $6 million grant has been approved for the downtown riverfront in Fort Wayne- giving the city a total of $12 million in funds for the project.

The Legacy Joint Funding Committee approved the grant, that comes from the Community Foundation and Capital Improvement Board.

The grant covers the first phase of the project to clean up over 2.5 miles of the riverfront.

According to the Journal Gazette, committee members believe it will take around 30 years and millions of dollars to build the entire project.
